Tribal cultures around the world use mirrorwork, or shisha mirrors, embroidery and other needle arts to embellish clothing, accessories, to adorn animals and for other purposes.  Mirrors sparkle and embroidery adds color and pattern.  Add a bit of tribal adornment to your own costuming with these pieces.

Mirrorwork is used by many cultures around the world.  Our pieces are usually obtained from the Middle East or from India, where it is used to decorate anything and everything.  These pieces are often very old and have been used and reused many times.  The mirrors in them can be cracked, broken or even completely missing in places.  They can often be replaced with small round craft mirrors, or if you like, with large sew-on amulets or even beadwork medallions.  If you have questions, please contact us at info@redcamel.net.

Tribal textiles are collected from many different areas of the world and often have been used and reused many times.  Because fabric items can become worn after a relatively short period of time, repairs often show where the original maker or owner tried to keep the item in good condition.  These pieces may be thin in places, frayed, worn, discolored or have other evident wear.  Beadwork may be frayed or coming loose in places.  Please check all photos carefully for condition and be aware that this wear is a part of the cultural nature of these items and should be viewed as part of its charm and allure instead of a flaw.
