Vintage Uzbekistan tassels from the Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan. Black Cotton / silk tassels on a faded, woven band. There is a bit of beading and some thread-wrapping on the tassels themselves. All the colors are muted and faded into soft shades. These tassels can be used for home decor, costuming, or can be used in your hair garden for an added bit of detailing. These are matching tassels; the only difference being the weave on the wool bands.
The Surkhandarya (or Surxondaryo - modern spelling) region is the southernmost region of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is home to many ornate arts including embroidery, beading and highly detailed jewelry. Decorated textiles adorn most homes and can include lovely saye gosha and suzani pieces with intricate embroidery.
