Rectangle shaped sew-on tribal amulets in a brighter metal finish. Stamped metal amulets are sometimes called or "gilets" after the name of the mixed metals they are made of. These stamped bits of metal have holes punched into them for sewing to costuming or accessories. Easy to sew to any costume or accessory project or other do-it-yourself items. Our metal amulets are made by hand by Afghan refugees in Pakistan with traditional methods. Due to the handmade nature of this product, size and shape may vary slightly from piece to piece.
Metal amulets are widely used by tribal peoples for embelishing adult and children's clothing, bags, animal trappings and all manner of textile items for personal and household use. They are stamped into sheet metal with a design tool and then cut out by machine or by hand. Finally there are holes punched into the metal on each side to allow the piece to be attached with thread. The beauty of metal amulets is that they are small and lightweight and can be sewn to anything you like!

Machine stamped, so size and depth of stamping will be fairly uniform.
Please look at photos carefully to see metal color. Most pieces are an unpolished, mostly silvery color, but may vary from light to dark and from brassy to coppery. Due to the hand made nature of this product, there may also be some small variation in size, color and stamping depth.
