Six large matching decorative coins on a beaded strip. Light blue beading with a bit of black and metallic silver edgding helps keep the evil eye at bay.  These coins have small stamped round pieces and flat pieces that resemble granulation applied to the front of them to add visual interest. This shorter piece may be the perfect thing for your accessory or other small DIY projects.  Coins that are already strung on cord are easy to use, just sew in place and go!

In tribal life, vintage components and findings are often reused and repurposed to add adornment to new clothing, jewelry and accessory pieces. You can also find them on animal trappings and objects that the owner wishes to keep safe from evil influences. As the embellished item wears and eventually becomes unusable, the pieces that can be saved are repurposed to embellish a newer item. Think of them as the original recycling!

You will receive the exact piece(s) shown in the photos on this page. Please check photos carefully for condition. These are used tribal pieces that have previously adorned tribal clothing, accessories, household goods, animal trappings or other items. As a previously used tribal item it may have small flaws that should not be considered defects, but add character and authenticity to tribal items.

A NOTE ON THE CONDITION OF TRIBAL ITEMS: Our tribal components are used pieces from from faraway lands. As used pieces they may be tarnished or otherwise reflect their prior lives as treasured tribal pieces. Please know that we strive to maintain the tribal allure of our items and therefore we do not clean or repair these pieces in any way. This not only maintains the old, tribal look of each piece that our belly dance customers seek, but also preserves the value of a piece that cleaning and polishing might destroy.

We do our best to describe any flaws that may be present, and we encourage you to read the full description and look at all photos closely to judge the condition of the item for yourself and know exactly what you are ordering. If you have questions about the condition of any item, please ask!

Tips for using DIY tribal coins:
Attaching coins can be as simple as sewing one coin in place by stitching through the soldered loop or hole. You can attach coins that are already strung onto bands by stitching through the woven band or around the cord. You can also make your own bands out of braided yarn (matching colors this way is easy). Coins on beadwork bands are fairly easy to attach by sewing between the glass beads although sometimes the backing for beadwork can be a bit tough. To remove coins from woven bands or cord, cut through the band/cord. Don't try to pull them off the cord. This may break the weld on the bale.
